Good morning friends!
It's time for another challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog, and this week our hostess Frances Byrne has a Sketch for us to follow.
For this card, I flipped the sketch so it was vertical, and added the die cut words instead of the little banner.
This lovely candle is one of the newest dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs ... and it comes with extra dies to decorate it (such as the sprig I used here, a poinsettia and holly leaves!)
I used a pearlized green card stock for the candle base and embossed it with my favourite ECD embossing folder. To get the glittery red candle wax, I made my own glittered paper to die cut from! Easy peasy to do by adhering a small piece of double sided adhesive to white card stock. Remove the top liner from the double sided adhesive and pour on the Silk Microfine Glitter. Once you have put the excess glitter back in the jar, polish the glitter in with your fingers and die cut your desired shape.
When I do the glittering technique on Peel-Offs, I save all the scraps. The candle flame's were cut from scraps made with the Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter and coloured with Copic Markers.
Because I love lots of shimmer & shine on my holiday cards, I added several sizes of red Glitter Dot Peel-Off's to the sprigs. Initially I wanted the springs to look frosty so I cut them from white. However, I didn't like the look when they were all attached so I carefully stippled the white sprigs with green ink.
Finally, here is a peek at the inside ...
We would sure love you to play along with the challenge, and link up your project. Be sure to check out what the rest of the Crazies have come up with for the challenge, at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog. (If you link up to an on-line gallery, please use the keyword C4C245.)
