I had a new stamp set, two new packages of card stock that fit the challenge and a card that practically made itself.
This stamp set is on the Stampin' Up retiring list. It's been on my wish list for a very long time, and I just couldn't bear to let it slide by. Actually there were several sets that I hated to give up on, but - I had to exercise restraint and this set was the one I ordered. The first thing I did was cut the little bird away from the trees on the rubber.
I stamped the trees, bird and words (Verve) with Watermark ink on an Aqua Mist (PTI) card stock panel, matted it with yellow, then popped it up on a white card stock base. This is my favorite layout, having a smaller decorated panel popped up on the card base.
I took a little Pearl X with a white shimmer, and lightly dusted it over the bird only. I love the way it softly 'pops'.
This is a Clean And Simple (CAS) sympathy card for my stash.
Thanks for stopping by today!

It's great when a card is put together so easily. I can see why you couldn't let that stamp set slip by. What a lovely CAS card. Thanks for playing along at Dynamic Duos.
ReplyDeleteThis is so soft and comforting, Karen! LOVE what you did to the bird!!
ReplyDeleteI've been intentionally not looking at the SU retiring list because I'm afraid I will just end up with a long list of wants!! :) I really should just give in and look, though, before it's too late! Eeek!
